Catch the big trends

Lately I've been dabbling in different ways to trade instead of just sticking to my normal swing and triangle trading.. I've started to try and catch bigger trends rather than smaller ones.. I'm talking the big 300+ pip moves and I've found looking at past history charts that this method has become very handy. I set 2 indicators and looked at it on each time frame chart and found its very effective and useful.

Starting with a 312 EMA and Alligator indicator

As you can see (this is only one example) We have our long blue 312 EMA and our nice colorful Alligator as the Alligator rips through the 312 EMA it opens up and has a really strong buy signal which is where we take our trade at. Now, this is only one example but there are MANY more out there.. I've analysed this method before testing it and if you try yourself and look back in history of the chart you will see its really good for catching big trends AND it doesn't really rip past the EMA when its a fake out. I'm going to keep trying and I'll definitely keep throwing in updates on how its working for me.

Interesting. I never used much MA indicators but more stuck to RSI and Stochastics, I found these two to be effective for me but I'm always open to try new things. Keep us posted yo

This method is used by a few pro traders I've read and supposedly works well, you just need patience.

I've always liked a cross-over 200 EMA method. Because I trade on weekly and monthly charts only I find this very method of trading very useful as it eliminates a lot of fake outs. However, I don't use the Alligator indicator rather a 100 and 200 EMA and wait for them to cross over.

I'm fixed on 100 EMA, Alligator and support and resistance.. When my support / resist is broken and alligator crosses over it and through the 100 EMA, I trade. Works well.. Very slow trading process but you get bigger profits
